We’re excited to shine a spotlight on Wayne Hippo, a visionary Managing Partner behind PS Solutions. In this feature, Wayne shares his personal journey, from his early history to the driving forces that inspired him to create PS Solutions with lifelong friend, Joe Merilli. What got you into staffing and development?
I practiced law for over 20 years as an employment law attorney, where I gained extensive experience dealing with a wide range of personnel issues. My deep interest in workforce development and economic issues naturally grew from this background. When combined with my experience in elected office, focusing on workforce and economic development, it created a perfect synergy for what I do now.
Why did you create PS Solutions?
Joe and I have known each other since we were eight years old, and over the years, we’ve had countless conversations about the importance of keeping technology in the United States. We’ve often discussed the challenges we’re facing in developing talent domestically and our frustration with seeing jobs sent overseas—a trend we believe weakens our country.
Our shared passion for addressing these issues, combined with our unique backgrounds, led us to create something different from the typical technology staffing firms. We wanted to build a company that truly invests in nurturing talent here at home and strengthens the U.S. tech industry from within.
What do you believe are the best things about what you do?
I was the first person in my family to attend college, breaking a five-generation tradition where everyone worked for the railroad. Growing up in a lower middle-income neighborhood, I was drawn to law with a desire to solve problems for the “little guy” and developed a deep passion for making things better for people.
Over time, my interest in law combined with an understanding of the critical role technology plays in creating opportunities for others. PS Solutions has been the perfect platform to bring these passions to life. We focus on creating good jobs and providing training opportunities that help improve lives.
Our services are designed to uplift people, whether it’s a new entrepreneur striving to make their dream a reality or a business owner looking to enhance their operations. I’ve always been drawn to helping smaller and mid-sized businesses, as well as individuals who are working hard to better their lives. PS Solutions has been the ultimate marriage of my interests, allowing me to solve problems and make a positive impact on people’s lives in meaningful way
